Benefits of Australia Awards

The recipients of Australia Awards Scholarships will get various benefits and coverages. The program is offered for the completion of a specified academic program in a certain period of time. The benefits provided through Australian higher education institutions are listed below:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Economy class air-traveling ticket fare to and from Australia
  • Preliminary allowances such as contributions for accommodation, study material, and textbooks
  • Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE)- Basic living cost coverage determined by the department.
  • Introductory Academic Program (IAP): A program covering information on living and studying in Australia is provided before formal academic studies begin.
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): It will be provided to cover the basic medical costs of the scholarship recipient (pre-existing conditions will be applied) for the duration of the award. This benefit is only available to scholarship holders.
  • If deemed necessary, Pre-course English (PCE) fees may be available for students to cover in-country and/or in-Australia training.
  • Supplementary academic support may be provided to enhance the academic learning of scholars.
  • Eligible research students may be provided with one return economy class airfare via the most direct route to their country of citizenship or within Australia for the purpose of fieldwork. This benefit is only available for research awards and Masters by coursework programs that have a compulsory research component requiring fieldwork.

Eligibility for Australia Awards Scholarships 2023-2024

To be eligible to apply for Australia Awards Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria and eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must be the citizen of participating countries [Check eligible countries]
  • Must not be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or New Zealand
  • The age limit is 18 years and above on February 1 of the scholarship’s commencements.
  • Proficient and highly scored in English language tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.
    • Min. Score in IELTS: 6.5
    • Min. Score in TOEFL-iBT: 78
    • Min. Score in PTE: 58
  • Not be married to, engaged to, or a de facto of a person who holds, or is eligible to hold, Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, at any time during the application, selection and mobilization phases.
  • Not be currently serving as military personnel
  • Fulfilling the requirements set by Universities in Australia
  • Fulfilling the visa requirement of the Department of Home Affairs, Australia.
  • Not be applying for a scholarship for a course of study at an academic level lower than already achieved.

#Step 3:

Apply Online:

  • Visit the Online Australia Scholarships Information System (OASIS)
  • Register your profile with detailed information
  • Answer some questions to establish your eligibility
  • After that, you will receive a unique registration number, username, and password.
  • Do not submit your application immediately [save it on draft for future edits]. If you submitted it, you can not change your application.
  • Update your documentation and revise your information until the closing date.
  • Finally submit your scholarship application before the end of the date

Note: OASIS, the online application system, may experience delays due to high usage in the days leading up to the closing date for scholarship applications.
